7 Incredible Sourdough Recipes for Mother’s Day Brunch
Incredible sourdough recipes and ideas for a tasty Mother’s Day Brunch that won’t disappoint.
Mother’s Day is quickly approaching and what better way to show your appreciation than baking with sourdough for brunch? It takes time and creativity and skill. It’s beautiful and edible. It says I love you mom!
Or at least to me it does.
I love baking sourdough goods to show the appreciation I have for the women in my life.
To me, Mother’s Day isn’t just for me to celebrate my biological mom but also to celebrate ALL the moms that work hard at raising little people or have raised little people. I often celebrate my friends, my grandmas, my mothers, and my aunts.
Who will you be celebrating this year??
I rounded up 7 amazing sourdough recipes for you to bake and share to show the moms in your life your appreciation.
1. Sourdough Strawberry Shortcake
Strawberries and a buttery, tender sourdough biscuit. Paired with whipped cream and oh my, you have heaven on a fork! Mother’s Day brunch goals right there.
2. Butternut Molasses Sourdough Bread
One of my favorite loaves to bake and eat, and everyone that I have shared them with agrees. This Butternut Molasses Sourdough Bread has an ultra tender crumb from the butternut squash, slight sweetness and depth from the molasses, and an irresistible thin, shatter-y crust. I often gift this one and it receives much praise! But it could also be a central part of a Mother’s Day brunch gathering paired with some butter.
3. Sourdough English Muffins
Sourdough English Muffins are the perfect blank canvas for a Mother’s Day brunch! Leave them plain and pair with jam OR build sandwiches out of them with cheese, eggs, and sausage OR serve eggs benedict with these Sourdough English Muffins and hollandaise sauce.
4. Sourdough Croissants and Cruffins
Flaky, airy, BUTTERY croissants made with Sourdough. The ultimate indulgence made a smidge healthier with the long fermentation of the sourdough. Take it to another level for a Mother’s Day brunch by making them into cruffins-a croissant shaped into a muffin tin then filled with pastry creams and jams.
5. Sourdough Crepes
These Sourdough Crepes can be made in a jiffy and filled with all manner of things! Perfect for a Mother’s Day brunch. Fill them with cream cheese and fruit or go savory with cheese and herbs. Either way they are sure to be a hit.
6. Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls
These are by far the most popular recipe on this website. The love for these Sourdough Cinnamon rolls is probably pretty darn close to the love you have for your mama. They have had a ton of reviews and comments and have quite a fan following. Share the love for these cinnamon rolls with all the moms in your life for Mother’s Day.
7. Breakfast Tacos Made with the best Sourdough Tortillas
Pair the best Sourdough Tortillas with eggs, cheese, chorizo, salsa and sour cream or any of the breakfast taco fixings of your dreams. I promise if you share with your mother, you will be the favorite child. These Sourdough Tortillas are so tender and flavorful, you won’t ever buy store bought again.
